It's almost time!

Hello everyone who may be reading this. I've finally had a little time to sit down and start this blog, something I've been meaning to do for over a week now. I'm just getting over a nasty case of the flu, probably the 5th time I've been sick this winter, which set me back on starting this whole thing.

Anyway, all that aside, I figured it was about time to get this up and running because believe it or not my hike starts in less than two weeks! I'm excited to get under way and put all my new equipment to use. I had my tent set up out in the front yard for a few days, tearing it down, setting it back up, getting used to all its quirks, and I loved every second. I'm hoping to put some pictures up to show it off here before I leave, perhaps in the next couple days. However I had to take it down and keep it inside because of the three-day downpour we're currently in the middle of. After this passes I plan on spending a night in it before I leave, with sleeping bag and everything, just to get a feel for it.

Even though my hike is really close I still have a few more things to get together, mostly small, but nonetheless important. I'll be going to an outdoor store with my Dad, possibly tomorrow if I'm feeling better, to finish up and then it'll be the waiting game from there on out. I may not have too many posts before I leave, but once I'm on the trail I plan to use this daily when possible, cell service permitting. Until those days come however, I will just be checking off days on the calendar.
