  1. Dan you dude! you're doing an incredible job. 45+ miles is like walking to Mor-Mor and Far-Fars! Don't worry too much about the snakes as they are as afraid of you as you are of them. But be careful for the ticks. We're trying to keep track of you on the map so be careful for stick pins in your way! Soak in everything you see around you-this is such an incredible adventure- I'm very Jello! "Truck on" says Uncle John!

  2. Hi Dan.......I hear drinking coffee is good before you exercise! Get some when you can. I just watched LOST ! It was great. You better not get LOST !!! How was that waterfall at Amicalola ? Was it beautiful ? Any chance you can post a picture of something sometime? How are your meals going? Gorp? Chicken dinners? Keep yourself well hydrated especially in the warm weather. It's cold up here. I had to start a fire when I got home! Get some sleep. Love you Dan

  6. Hi Dan! Wow, and double WOW!! Read each one of your entries word-by-word, often getting them stuck in my throat with emotion. You're doing so great and making terrific mileage. Your paranoia with the poison ivy and crooked stick snake struck a familiar cord with me! Be careful with those, and also the sun. Can't imagine carrying anything, let alone a 50lb pack, with a sunburn. Remember to stop and enjoy the scenery and nature in general, every now and then. A great lifetime experience! Wish I was young, energetic, and crazy enough to have done something like this. Following your every footstep vicariously!! All our love, Judy and Paul.

  7. Dan, I check your blog everyday when I get to work. I love hearing about how things are progressing. I really wish I could've done this trip with you. However, I am working on meeting with you when you're further north. I'm currently looking for another job in the Boston area. I've applied to over 30 places and I've only had 1 interview... Hopefully my luck will turn and I will be able to hike with you in New England. In the mean time I'll be checking in and keeping touch here.

Hows the weather? Have you hit any rain yet? Is your bag weighing any less now? I would love for you to describe some of the views you are seeing along the way. Keep safe my brother.

Oh by the way, Sarah Palin and the tea party gang are rallying in the Boston Common today.. ha thought you like to hear some current boston news. I'll try and give you a random Boston update as much as possible.

    You're Broseph,

    Big C

  10. Dan, you are a true storyteller. I feel like I'm reading a chapter in Huckleberry Fin. I am so addicted to your daily adventures. May the "force" stay with you. Heidi
